From Cloud Forest Silence to Jungle Coastlines
One of our recent custom designed journeys began in San Gerardo de Dota, a cool, misty valley cradled within the Talamanca Mountains. Instead of beginning on the beach, we chose altitude and stillness.
The travelers were passionate about wildlife, so we arranged early morning exploration with a private naturalist guide in search of the resplendent quetzal. No crowds. No rush. Just the quiet rhythm of the cloud forest at dawn.
From there, the journey moved south, intentionally deeper.
Designing the Transitions
We believe the way you move through Costa Rica is as important as where you stay.
A waterfall stop along the Pacific coast broke up the drive with a refreshing jungle swim. Later, the road gave way to water in the wetlands of the Río Sierpe.
Boarding a boat through mangrove channels, the arrival into Drake Bay became an experience in itself, herons overhead, crocodiles along the banks, rainforest closing in around the river’s edge.
This is the kind of access that transforms logistics into memory.
Ocean and Rainforest, Thoughtfully Combined
Because marine life was a priority, we incorporated a snorkeling expedition to Isla del Caño, one of the country’s most important marine reserves. Clear waters, volcanic reef structures, sea turtles and dense schools of tropical fish made it an unforgettable ocean encounter.
On land, exploration continued inside Corcovado National Park, widely recognized as one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. With expert guides leading the way, the experience became immersive rather than observational, tracking wildlife, reading the forest, understanding the ecosystem.
